Show Rules & Requirements
 

1. Animals may begin to arrive after 8:00 AM. All animals must be entered in the show between 8:00 and 10:30 AM. Proof of age by registration papers required.

2. Classes will be provided for all breeds with at least 10 head of cattle. In order to have a breed show there must be at least two (2) different families and two (2) exhibitors. Parents and children are considered as one family.) The general livestock superintendent’s decision will be final! Breeds Brangus, Beefalo, Hereford and Polled Hereford, Shorthorn and Longhorn & all other breeds.

3. The Open Heifer Show and Junior Heifer Show will be conducted simultaneously. Awards for both Open and Junior placings will be awarded.

4. Health rules are as follows: All cattle shall be accompanied by Certificate of Veterinary inspection recording evidence of a negative test for brucellosis within 90 days. The negative test requirement shall not apply to:
   a. Cattle less than 18 months of age (both vaccinates and
      non-vaccinates).
   b. Steers and spayed heifers.
   c. Cattle from Certified Brucellosis-Free herds.

5. All animals entered at owner’s risk! Coffee County Fair Association will not be responsible for accidents.

6. Bedding will be furnished for in-barn use. Please do not bed with straw.

7. Animals may be removed from the Fairgrounds immediately following the show.

8. Entry fee of $3.00 per head required for Open Show entries.

9. Nose leads required for bulls over 1 - year old.

10. Junior show exhibitors must be 19 years old or younger. Adults may assist very young exhibitors if required.

11. Junior show entries must be registered in a junior’s name and shown by a junior exhibitor.

12. All animals brought to grounds must be unloaded and exhibited.

Showmanship Classes

1. Pee-Wee (3rd Grade & Below) Showmanship -
Trophy

2. Junior High (4th Grade - 8th Grade) Showmanship -
Trophy & $10

3. Senior High (9th Grade & Above) Showmanship -
Trophy & $10.

Show Classes

1. Spring Calves: calved after March 1 of current year.

2. Junior Calves: calved Jan. 1 - Feb. 28 of current year.

3. Winter Calves: calved Nov. 1 - Dec. 31 of previous year.

4. Senior Calves: calved Sept. 1 - Oct. 31 of previous year.

5. Late summer Yearlings: calved July 1 - Aug. 31 of previous year.

6. Early Summer Yearlings: calved May 1 - June 30 of previous year.

7. Late Junior Yearlings: calved March 1 - April 30 of previous year.

8. Early Junior Yearlings: calved Jan. 1 - Feb. 28 of previous year.

9. Senior Yearlings (Heifers Only): calved Sept. 1 - Dec. 31.

10. Bulls Only, mature between two and three years old.

11. Breed Champion and Reserve: Open & Junior Heifer: First and Second Places in Classes 1 - 9. Will be selected immediately following selection of Heifer Class Winners.

12. Cow/Calf: Calf must be less than 1 - year old.
Champion will be selected immediately following the Open & Junior Heifer Show.

13. Breed Champion & Reserve, Bull: First & Second places in classes 1 - 8 & 10. Rosette
