Rules & Regulations
1. This show is sanctioned by
the American Dairy Goat Association. Unless other rules are
specified, this show will be held under the rules of ADGA provided
they do not conflict with any of the rules and regulations
prescribed by the Coffee County Fair Association.
2. This
show is sanctioned for Senior Does and for Junior Does and will be
shown as follows: Alpine, Nubian, Recorded Grades, AOP and
Toggenburg.
3. Dairy goats that are under 6 months of age may
be shown with a stamped duplicate application for registration or
recordation from A.D.G.A. Original registration or recordation
certificates are required on all goats over 6 months of age. No
copies, telegrams or phone calls will be accepted in lieu of the
required papers.
4. Tennessee Health Rules shall be observed.
All goats must be covered by an official health certificate issued
within 60 days of the show date by an accredited veterinarian
certifying your animals to be free from symptoms of contagious
diseases. No animals with enlargement or abscesses of the lymph
nodes (draining or not) or showing evidence of incised lymph nodes
will be admitted. Dairy goats found to have any of the above will be
barred from the show barn and pens and must be housed outside and
cared for by the exhibitor.
5. All goats older than 6 months
of age from out-ofstate must show proof of testing negative for TB
and Brucellosis within 30 days prior to the show date and within 90
days for Tennessee animals. Certified and Accredited herds will be
accepted--your certification papers must be presented along with
your Health Certificate.
6. Gate will open Sunday morning on
September 19. Please be signed in before 8:00 a.m. The show is
scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. beginning with Showmanship Classes,
followed by Senior Does and finishing with Junior Does.
7.
Championship Challenge Classes are being offered to all does showing
a permanent Champion (CH) or (GCH) on their certificates. You are
encouraged to enroll these Champions in Champion Challenge for Best
of Breed Award.
8. A.D.G.A. Rosettes will be awarded to
Grand Champion and Reserve Champion of each breed. Ribbons to be
awarded to those entries placing first through fifth. Best of Breed
Rossette awarded for Best of Breed Winnet.
9. There will be
no pre-show milkout. Milkers will be shown first.
10. No
horned animals allowed.
11. Hay and feed will not be
provided.
12. Pens will be assigned in the order that entries
and fees are received. Most pens will be 8’ x 8’ and a few a little
smaller. Pens cannot be reserved until your animals are registered.
Bedding will not be furnished--sawdust will be in the pens. Pen fee
is $4 per pen.
13. Registration fee is $3 per animal until
August 31. No entries will be accepted without payment, or they will
be considered late. A late fee of $5 per animal will be charged for
those registering after August 31. No exceptions. Fees are
nonrefundable. Checks are to be made out to Coffee County Fair.

14. Showmanship Placing will be the
same. Limit of awards--Exhibitors will not be awarded more than two
premiums in any one class. Ribbons shall be presented in the order
of placing by the judge. However, third money will be paid to fourth
place winner, fourth money to fifth place winner, etc., when the
third winner is prohibited from receiving the third cash award under
the provisions of this rule.
15. All animals must be in
exhibitor’s name prior to show date.
16. The Coffee
County Fair and The Dairy Goat Show Committee will not be
responsible for any animals or the personal property of any
exhibitor.
17. All animals brought to the fair grounds must
be unloaded and exhibited. All animals entered at owner’s risk.
Coffee County Fair Association will not be responsible for
accidents.
